MPN 107324. UPC 781317339877. This diecast commemorates Richard Petty's final trip to Victory Lane following the Firecracker 400 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Wednesday July 4, 1984. Petty started the race in 6th position and led 53 laps, including the final 33 laps of the race to earn the victory for Mike Curb Racing. It was Petty's historic 200th, and final, NASCAR win. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan became the first sitting U.S. President to attend a NASCAR race. Reagan started the Firecracker 400 at Daytona where he gave the command, "Gentlemen, start your engines!" from aboard Air Force One. Later that day, Air Force One famously raced Petty down the backstretch as it landed at Daytona International Airport, located behind the speedway.
