Earnhardt started in 4th position and dominated the race, leading 59 of the 120 laps, including the final 47 laps to earn the victory. Jimmy Spencer's Yellow Transportation Pontiac was the next best car, but he retired on lap 108 with engine failure. Michael Waltrip finished 2nd in his Aaron's Chevrolet fielded by Michael Waltrip Racing.
